Synopsis:
Pat Peoples, a former teacher in his 30s, has just come out of a mental institution. Convinced that passed just a few months that "bad place," Pat does not remember what made him go there. What you know is that Nikki, his wife wanted to stay a 'time apart. " Trying to recompose the puzzle of his memory, now full of lapses, he has yet to face a reality that does not seem very promising. With his father refusing to talk to him, his wife refusing to review it and friends avoiding comment on what happened before admission, Pat, now addicted to exercise, is determined to rearrange things and win back his wife, because you believe in happy endings and the good side of life.
Pat out of certain psychiatric clinic to regain Nikki, but he did not even remember what made them both start the "time apart". He starts trying to see the world the same way that his ex-wife, reading books she liked and doing things she always wanted him to do, and the course of history Pat meets Tiffany, the sister of his best friend, a woman who has a bad mental health, but also has an incredible heart.
Now let's talk about Pat Peoples, the guy who wants to learn to be kind instead of being right! Pat sure that everything has a happy ending, and he believes that his life is a movie made by God. fanatic fan of the Eagles, which has an explosive behavior both but with the huge heart. Pat has problems with literature when it comes to romance, because all the books I read just a tragic way, leaving him angry because for him every story has its happy ending.
Among so many people who care about Pat -tirando his father, who ignores him since leaving the clinically that most caught my attention was, of course, his mother (Jeanie), his brother (Jake) and Tiffany.
Jeanie is a strong woman who struggles to improve the mental health of your child, protects and loves you more than anything and that supports the father -extremely bipolar- Pat. The book clearly shows the unconditional love she has for her child.
Jake impressed me a lot, a great brother who also is fighting to see Pat better. By the way, Pat also you an absurdly great love for the brother and I found it very nice of Matthew show that in the book.
Between us, Tiffany is completely crazy, but I loved it! Sincere, fun, heart of gold, but good manipulator when you want. Tiffany always does something wrong, even with your best intentions, and I found it very interesting because it takes your mistakes.
I'm completely in love with this book, really, just the cover I knew I was going to love it! And the cover did not fool me, the book is really good. Some people will find the narrative through-or cloying / repetitive much- but the day to day Pat, it is normal to have things repeated.
Oh, and frankly not attended MOVIE BEFORE READING THE BOOK. The film is very, very, very, very different from the book is the same story but in different orders, adds facts not listed in the book and even change some names. I regretted having watched the film.
